One of the unforeseen outcomes of the violence and poverty in Medellin is unintended pregnancies.  Those at-risk pregnant teenage mothers are welcomed every week at Casa Walsingham for help, sustenance and guidance through this turbulent time. Many of these women are pregnant due to rape and have no where else to run. The goal of Let the Children Live! Is to encourage them to keep their babies (abortion is legal in extreme cases in Colombia) and to proved them life support going forward. They are helped financially, as well as given a high school education which helps them work towards a diploma.
